Maudie, a stray that came and never left (her owner never returned our calls), is SO resplendent and mischievous that she merits a portrait. In fact, how about three or four portraits, each with a background color as homage to Vincent Van Gogh. His color sense floors me, as does his life's story. On some level, we are all strays deserving of love and colors befitting our battered souls.
Maudie is also named after Maude Lewis, the Nova Scotian folk artist famous for, among other things, her black cats with yellow eyes.
