Artistic CV
Nova Scotia-born Acadian with roots that reach back to 17th century France, I grew up in a tiny village of Belleville, population 150, give or take.
Art was never a thing in that time and place. That said, there were natural-born artisans amongst the wood-workers, quilt-makers, and home-makers who took pride in doing things well. I took to writing, photography, and drawing from early days, and began teaching myself oil painting in late 1995 while living in Montréal.
Other places I’ve lived include Halifax, NS where I spent four years as a student at Dalhousie University. Later, during a year in Europe, I spent time in Metz, FR, Athens, GR, Naples, IT. Never did I think I’d be living in West Valley City, UT, but here I am, with an art studio in the back yard where I draw inspiration from all that I’ve seen, done, and experienced - well, a selection thereof.
I write; paint; used to wrestle ... and continue to evolve, refine my vision, and interpret whatever catches my eye and imagination.
