I've always loved half-light in paintings of twilit scenes. Moonlight through trees, evening skies after the sun's just set, sombre interiors hinting at whatever may unfold in the coming dark.
This painting is an attempt at getting that contrast between the ephemeral evening sky and the semi-abstracted forms in the foreground.
It is also an exercise in training my eye to overlook all unnecessary details. Clearly, this one is in its early stages.
