In progress, based on a sketch I did in February, 2006. It was a fraught time, barely two months after my former husband, the poet Irving Layton had died and the post-mortem -- sorry to say -- shitshow had begun.
The sketch made me laugh out loud, something I'd not done in many months. Always wanted to work it up into a painting.
So today, some twelve years after dashing off that sketch, I began to paint "It's Such A Strain". Will submit it to the Mosesian Center's "Laughing Out Loud" Art Show, summer 2018.
Ya never know!
